New Age Steppers

Glad that working week is over and there are three days in a row not going to my office. Made myself an easy and relaxed evening with a drink by my side and music to listen to. Found so many songs I've never heard for a long time. One of them songs is from the New Age Steppers a collective of musicians which varied over time. The overriding sound was a heavy and chaotic dub, with an underpinning bass guitar, and substantial use of samples. It was released on the On-U Sound label which was famous for their dub sounds.

Among the known personnel of the New Age Steppers were Bim Sherman, George Oban, Ari Up (of The Slits), Steve Beresford, Mark Stewart (of The Pop Group and later Mark Stewart and the Mafia), and a young Neneh Cherry, also associated at the time with Rip Rig + Panic. Bruce Smith and Keith Levene have also made contributions to the collective.

So let's start the weekend with a little dub reggae.
Enjoy
